A set of personal projects ready and waiting for the new year?
That was the year that was. The fourth quarter down, what was done, what was left undone…
Third quarter, been there, done that. Wow the time flew, and we’re already midway through the 4th quarter… so w’happening?
Second quarter has flown by, three months lost to the past. Time to have a look at my attempts to get something rinsed out of it.
That was the year that was. Another year down, how did the Taskfactory for 2012 do? Lets have a look.
The last three months have streamed through my fingers like the finest Saharan sand, so finding myself at quarters end it is time again for my TaskFactory update. The last few months have been blown out with the reboot of TEFOSAV and an imminent release of new electronic music for thy delectation. A new task has been spat out by the manufactory urging towards completion.
Time creeps inexorably onwards, and we as mortals move ever closer to our final entropic end, so like Buckminster Fuller I’m pushing towards enjoying and doing as much in life as my personality and background is capable of… My TaskFactory pattern (I’m a C++ programmer btw) contains a list of items I’d like to finish before the years end and Apophosis hits the planet, or the Sun eats us or George Lucas loses it and kills all the humans after he finally wakes up and realises what the prequels are actually like (“Jar Jar!!! NooooOOOO!!!”) This has been foretold by the Mayans and backed up by teh Internets so it must come to pass. In my case, terminal fecundity may also start to take its toll over the next 10 years, so another thing to add to my list of woe.
My broken website has been taunting me like the unloved child of a mucus ridden tar fairy for some time now. Finally, after realising that I am unlikely to have the energy to give the site my full attention, I decided upon a course of action. Where once was a database and code fashioned from my hands containing effluvial mind ramblings made withered by time, now sits a shiny new 3rd party blog site ready to accept the various ejecta pulled from the wrinkled grey matter riding around in this human’s skull.
Whilst typing this, I’m sitting in the accreted shell of a twenty something’s journey through various musical and computing experiments, with strange etchings looming over me insisting on completion. A list sits ready, and since there is no time like the present, it looks like something to enumerate and accomplish:
- Complete first issue of “FastFoodCyberNation” comic.
- Complete iPhone Rhythm Action proof-of-concept.
- Complete Newton Scale iPhone app.
- Complete ShapeJam iPhone/iPad app.
- Complete editing and animation on “Sorry”.
- Learn Russian.
- Complete reading Sci-Fi Masterworks series.
- Get Black Belt in JKD.
- Complete DVD and Vinyl back-up (my procrastination task for the previous 6 months…)
This is my TaskFactory class for life, as an exercise I want to see how many of these I can drill through before the end of the year.
